I checked my older projects finished by me in the spring and summer time, when the fall seemed far away… well, obviously not in my mind! I’d like to share here some of the autumn-related projects I made back then.
First, one more pair of fingerless gloves with a matching hat, made of mohair lace:
They were great projects, first time I actually followed a pattern and worked with joined, repeated motifs. Definitely not for the winter, but perfect for October. Plus they have enough colour to match my grey leather jacket, which is also suitable for that time of the year 🙂 These projects are very wool-efficient, so in fact I made another such hat, for my best friend.
For anyone interested in these projects and patterns I recommend the book “Simple Crochet Motifs: 20 Patterns for Stylish Accessories” by Camille Clavi. It was the first crochet book I’ve ever purchased and it taught me to read patterns, including charts. I’m still going to try some of them in the future.
And something for the home: two cotton chestnut leaf placemats:
I think they are really cool! I planned to make more of them, but for these two I used up all yarn planned for these placemats, so, well, I guess it’s just for the two of us 😉
As I am slowly working on Christmas gifts for my friends and family, I would like to make something similar for my brother. Perhaps placemats, with matching coasters, perhaps a table runner – well, anything of that kind should be useful in his new home. Still looking for the interesting patterns!
