My Buttonside Alpaca Jumper is ready! With my enhanced knitting speed and terrible insomnia over the past 10 days, I’ve been able to finish and block it, sew the buttons, and move on to the next projects almost effortlessly. And thankfully today is my last steroid day, as I’m really exhausted from the lack of sleep and unable to focus on anything, which is particularly problematic when I need to work. But certainly the medications did their job, and apart from all these weird side effects I’m doing so much better than ever in the last couple of months that I shouldn’t even really complain. Sometimes we have to choose the lesser evil and enjoy the positive things it provides. So let’s move on to the good stuff!
Happy New Year everyone! I’m really hopeful that this is going to be a good year, or at least better than 2016 – and I wish the same to everyone. If it’s true that the first days of the year are a prophecy for the rest of it, then I’m lucky, because in the first week of January I finished the project that made me really happy. It’s based on the Izumi pattern by Bernadette Ambergen. If you don’t know Bernadette’s patterns and you like shawls as much as I do, you need to check her other designs – they’re wonderful. I’m definitely planning to crochet at least two other in the future!
