Summer is really over… and yes, I know I already wrote it before, but now the fall is here for good, with the leaves changing colours and its chilly, crisp morning air. Although according to the weather forecast, the temperature can rise to 21 degrees Celsius tomorrow, I’m skeptical. We’ll see when tomorrow comes. For now, even though I love the weather outside, I struggle a little with how cold it is in our apartment. I turned all the heaters on, but they’re not really working yet so my new blanket is a real blessing now.
Cats also tend to sleep in more cozy places, where they can feel a little warmer. Such as this old Ikea wardrobe that they had claimed a few years ago and use as their bunk bed combined with playground. We don’t keep our clothes there anymore (except for some rain coats I wear when I run and other equally bad looking but useful stuff), we just gave up and bought a normal wooden wardrobe which can be closed securely.

The photo shows all my knitted Christmas gifts (except my Aunt’s shawl which had been posted separately earlier) waiting to be wrapped and posted. Somehow I managed to finish the last gift set just on time – and there’s no way I could also knit Mum’s top before tomorrow, so I’m glad I gave up on this idea and spared myself additional stress.

Paying taxes is not the most pleasant part of my year. As a self employed person, I must send my self assessment for the previous year and cover the difference with the preliminary tax paid the year before. Oh, and pay the preliminary estimated tax for the current year. I have time to do it until the end of October but of course I try to send my assessment earlier, depending on the time when I am paid by the company I work with.

As my quest to crochet all the Christmas gifts this year continues, I’m feeling stuck in the world of manly hats and scarfs. These projects tend to be fast and easy, but sometimes… sometimes they’re anything but that. But let’s start from the beginning.
Men in my life, who are going to receive gifts from me this Christmas, include my boyfriend, my dad, my brother and my nephew. And at least two of them are difficult… I can never figure out what to give them so that they really like it. Those are my dad and my boyfriend. I don’t think it’s a coincident that they are both mathematicians too? 😉
